Today was the end of the work week - THANK GOODNESS!
I ended this week with the busiest day I have had in a very long time. I walked in at 7:00 in the morning and didn't sit down until I got in my car at 3:45 to go home. I was flying solo and had SO much to do. I managed to get it all done AND get 30 lbs of butternut squash cooked and stored in the fridge to make butternut squash soup on Monday!
I knew I was going to have a really busy day so I went with all my old favorites to eat.
Breakfast...
A much needed LARGE hazelnut coffee from Bread Co & a HUGE bowl of Sunday oats with almond butter, pumpkin butter (duh), 1/2 of a banana and a handful of craisins for some chewyness.
I know I always say this, but it was so YUMMY!
Then I proceeded to get my butt handed to me ALL day long. It was nice though because the teachers knew I was all on my own and they left me alone to do my thing. I love it when they do that!
I was able to sit (for about 10 minutes) and eat.
Lunch was...
My usual tofurky on Rudy's Organic Bakery 7 grain with flax, Muenster cheese, romaine lettuce, red onion, mayo (a tiny bit) and dijon mustard. Today I paired it with a side of red seedles grapes.
That's different - right?
Then I worked my butt off for a few more hours, cooked 30lbs of butternut squash and then went home.
TGIF!!!
Now I'm home with Jasona nd the girls. Linsey's doing her homework, Regan's watching Wonder Pets and Jason's registering for classes for next semester.
We have reservations at Pi tonight and I am so excited. I have been wanting to eat there forever, but have (for some reason) never made it until now. It's a pizza place just a few blocks from us and now it's famous for being the President's FAVORITE pizza. I actually worked with the owner's girlfriend for about a year, but she quit a few months back and I haven't seen her since. Maybe we'll see her tonight.
In any case, I'm really excited and will take LOTS of pics...

Pizza sounds so good right now; how nice that you're getting a break from cooking dinner :) Have fun!
I never cease to be amazed at how many delicious oatmeal creations I learn about from bloggers! Your breakfast looks great!
TaTR: Friday night is usually the night we step away from the kitchen and take the girls out to an old fav or try something new. Lastnight's was SO good. And it really IS President Obama's favorite pizza. The owner and Chef were brought to the White House to make it for his family.
Simply Life: Thanks. Oatmeal is so versatile that you can come up with a million variations and not repeat (if you don't want to.) Thanks for reading!
